Fish lantern parades are held every year from the second to the 18th day of the Chinese New Year in Zhanqi Village, Shexian County, east China's Anhui Province. The tradition is said to date back more than 800 years to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). Villagers carry fish-shaped lanterns through the ancient alleyways to bring happiness and good luck to every family.
