Menton marked the Olympic year by showcasing lush citrus during a two-week carnival-style festival with giant floats and sculptures of swimmers, tennis, rugby and badminton players, all assembled from lemons and oranges. This year's edition of the annual Lemon Festival, the 90th, celebrates the Paris Olympic Games and was called "Olympia a Menton.”About 140 tonnes of citrus fruits and nearly 500,000 citruses were used to build and maintain the floats and historical scenes that line the central Bioves Park. Organizers expect up to 200,000 visitors this year.
