The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) has completed the deliberation on 271 proposals submitted by NPC deputies during last year's NPC plenary session, according to a briefing on Monday by the Delegate Affairs Commission of the NPC Standing Committee.
Fu Wenjie, the deputy director of the commission, said the standing committee received 271 proposals and 8,314 suggestions during last year's annual gathering. All proposals were submitted to nine NPC special committees for deliberation, and the suggestions were studied and handled by 204 institutions and organizations.
"So far, all of the proposals and suggestions have been handled, and replies were sent to the deputies," Fu said.
According to Fu, the commission had reported their work to the NPC standing committee in December.
Monday's briefing also announced 10 typical cases for high-quality deliberation and the handling of deputies' proposals and suggestions, including training community-level general practitioners, fostering high-quality nursing staff for the elderly, setting up automatic driving standards and IP protection.
The second plenary session of the 14th NPC is scheduled to open on March 5. Over 2,000 NPC deputies will hear work reports from the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) at the time.
