A total of 853 kilometers of highways in Altay Prefecture have been hit by snowdrifts during the ongoing cold waves which have swept through most parts of China since February 18. Traffic has resumed on all of the affected highways thanks to the efforts of 86 rescuers and 47 snow removal vehicles.
