About 118 "Chinese dragons" roamed the streets of Binyang County in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to celebrate the Firecracker Dragon Festival and share a joyful moment with the local residents. As an annual tradition, it falls on the 11th day of the first month in the traditional Chinese calendar. Locals perform the firecracker dragon dance while spectators throw firecrackers at the bamboo dragons during the ceremony to ward off evil and pray for peace and prosperity in the New Year. The unique folk tradition is one of China's time-honored intangible cultural heritages.
