China will firmly be a stabilizing force in a turbulent world, and it will promote cooperation between major countries with mutual respect and trust, respond to hot-spot issues through dialogue and consultation, strengthen global governance through solidarity and collaboration, and promote global growth through openness and mutual benefit.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered the remarks in a news briefing on Wednesday after participating in Munich Security Conference and wrapping up visits to Spain and France.

On Munich Security Conference

China has sent out a firm signal at the Munich Security Conference that it determines to play a stabilizing force in the turbulent world, said Wang Yi, despite the "Lose-Lose" theme of the conference highlighting the challenges faced by the world.

China is aiming to promote major-power cooperation with mutual respect and trust, face up to hotspot issues with dialogue and negotiation, enhance global governance based on solidarity and coordination, and accelerate global growth with mutual benefit.

The Chinese foreign minister said that he had a candid, substantial and constructive meeting with his U.S. counterpart Antony Blinken during the conference. China emphasizes that the U.S. should view China's development in a rational manner and implement the consensus reached by the two heads of states at their meeting in San Francisco.

It is the inevitable requirement of the history that China and U.S. maintain mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, said Wang Yi.

On regional conflict

Wang Yi emphasized the importance of political solutions to the Ukraine crisis and the Palestine-Israel conflict while reiterating China's stance that all parties should stick to their efforts in promoting for peace talks and seeking fair and reasonable solutions to prevent spillovers and deteriorated consequences.

China will continue to play a constructive role in re-establishing peace in Ukraine, and meanwhile support the construction of a balanced, effective and sustainable European security framework, said Wang.

The Palestine-Israel conflict has already led to the death of over 30,000 civilians and displaced 1.9 million others during the past 100 days, Wang said, calling on the international society to pool efforts for a ceasefire.

China's stance has remained clear since the beginning, reaching an immediate ceasefire, securing the humanitarian assistance, releasing all detainees and restoring the two-state solution in order to achieve long-lasting peace in the region.

On cooperation with Europe

Eyeing the future, Wang Yi said cooperation and partnership should be the key tone of China-Europe relations.

"There are more rational voices towards China in Europe," said the foreign minister. He added that Europe has maintained a positive attitudes towards enhancing ties, especially in the realms of trade, energy, green development, digitalization, education and people-to-people exchanges.

China welcomes European countries to share the market opportunities of China as well as participating in the further opening progress of the country, said Wang, vowing to broaden the market access for more European companies.

Wang also talked about the bilateral ties with France and Spain after his two visits. China is eyeing enhanced cooperation and exchanges with both countries in the future.
