The Court of Arbitration for Sport said in a statement on Friday that it has dismissed an appeal filed by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) against the decision taken by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to suspend its membership.

The IOC banned the ROC in October 2023 for recognizing regional Olympic councils, including Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, saying "the unilateral decision taken by Russia constitutes a breach of the Olympic Charter."

The ROC is yet to respond.
