China is ready to strengthen communication, consolidate strategic trust, and deepen cooperation with Germany to promote the stable development of bilateral relations, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with the German Chancellor's Foreign and Security Policy Advisor Jens Plotner in Beijing.

China will continue to promote pragmatic cooperation with Germany with an open attitude, in rational spirit and in line with market principles, properly address differences in the process of common progress and development, abandon protectionism, and make positive contributions to world stability, development and prosperity, added Wang.

He said both countries should adhere to unity and cooperation, oppose camp confrontation, abandon protectionism, and will not attempt to "de-China" in the name of "de-risking."

China and Germany should also work together to promote the sound and stable development of China-EU relations, added Wang.

For his part, Plotner said Germany hopes to expand cooperation with China across the board and make new contributions to addressing climate change and promoting world peace and development.
