Authorities in Huai'an, east China's Jiangsu Province have been striving to cope with heavy snow, freezing rain and strong winds brought by a recent cold wave, with ice and snow removal operations and traffic control measures being implemented. Huai'an City has been experiencing freezing rain, with the extreme weather conditions still persisting.
Bulldozers are being deployed to clear ice and snow from the main roads. Meanwhile, in areas where machinery cannot be operated, personnel have been put to work using shovels, brooms and other tools to manually clear slippery road sections. After unremitting efforts, the deicing work on the main roads, viaducts, tunnels and bridges has been successfully completed, with the urban public transportation system in the city operating without major disruption.
