On Friday, world No.1 Sun Yingsha and No.2 Wang Yidi both clinched straight-set wins over Prithika Pavade and Charlotte Lutz, respectively, while Olympic champion Chen Meng conceded the second game against Yuan Jianan to win the match 3-1.

"We hope to deliver our best performance in the final. I believe we've got what it takes to win the final victory," said Chen ahead of China's fellow finalists at the women's team event for the fifth consecutive time.

In the following women's semifinal clash, Japanese teenager Miwa Harimoto bounced back against Doo Hoi Kem 3-2 to move her side ahead. World No. 5 Hina Hayata doubled Japan's lead against Zhu Chengzhu 14-12, 11-3, 11-7, before Miu Hirano sent Japan to the final outclassing Lee Ho Ching 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.

Meanwhile, hosts South Korea dispatched Denmark 3-1 in the men's semifinal round, and Chinese Taipei downed Germany in straight sets to set up their next round with France.

"Of course, Team China is world No. 1. But as hosts, I think we should enjoy the match and make the best of our advantage of playing a home game," said South Korea's Jang Woo-jin ahead of their clash with the defending champions.
