The China Manned Space Engineering Office unveiled the official names of the new vehicles for its future manned lunar exploration missions on Saturday. After an open solicitation and selection, the new-generation manned spacecraft and the lunar lander for the missions were named Mengzhou and Lanyue, respectively. China aims to conduct manned lunar exploration by 2030. According to the preliminary plan, two Long March-10 carrier rockets will send the Lanyue lander and manned Mengzhou spacecraft to Earth-moon transfer orbit.
