Health authorities say it's urgent to have more doctors, considering the country's fast-aging population, but doctors claim raising admissions could result in unnecessary medical treatments because competition among doctors could hurt the education quality. More than 8,800 junior doctors and interns at major hospitals in Seoul - 71 percent of the trainee workforce - walked off the job to protest.
