A total of 13 hosts from both the main venue and the branch venues in Shenyang City, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, Changsha City from central China's Hunan Province, Xi'an from northwest China's Shaanxi Province, and Kashgar of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will be gathered on stage of the Lantern Festival Gala, linking up the event with interesting riddles, sending sweet blessings of harmony and beauty to the audience.

Chinese actors and singers along with with actors from Peking, Yueju, Huangmei and Min Opera, as well other genres will perform classic choruses together.

The creative "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" performance will combine Cantonese opera, instrumental music, ballet, and other disciplines into a delicate dance under the moonlight, aiming to present an innovative interpretation of "colored clouds caressing the evening breeze" with an extended meaning.

First broadcast in 1985, the Lantern Festival Gala has accompanied Chinese people on the special occasion of family reunion ever since.

The 2024 Lantern Festival Gala will be broadcast simultaneously on CCTV's TV channels, radio, and new media platforms on Saturday 8 p.m.
