Blacksmiths sprayed arcs of molten iron into the air to create a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the night sky in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, providing a visual feast for residents and visitors alike. This time-honored folk art is known as "Dashuhua" or "Datiehua," which in Chinese means "striking tree flowers" or "striking iron flowers." In ancient times, blacksmiths were inspired by the sparks of iron and would amuse themselves by throwing molten iron against walls during festive occasions. This folk art has flourished across China and is now listed as an intangible cultural heritage.
