Israel on Monday attacked compunds of Hezbollah air defense system in Lebanon's eastern Baalbek, the Israeli Defense Forces said in a statement.

This attack was carried out in response to Hezbollah's launch of surface-to-air missiles, the statement added. At least two Hezbollah members were killed, according to media reports.

Senior Hezbollah politician Fadlallah said in televised remarks that Israeli attack on Baalbek "will not remain without a response."
