Situated on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Tongliang is celebrated for its stunning natural scenery. Nestled among the bamboo forests of Mount Bayue is the ancient town of Anju. Here it's a tradition among the residents, with the onset of autumn, to harvest straw and bamboo from the mountains, which they use to decorate the dragons appearing in the local dragon dances.
