Russian troops have captured the Ukrainian village of Lastochkyne, about five kilometers northwest of Avdiivka, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday shortly after Ukraine's military said it had retreated from the village.
Ukraine said the retreat would help it better contain Russian troops' westwards advance.
