This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Venezuela. Despite the geographical distance, the two countries share a common love for burger-like foods made of dough stuffed with fillings.

Known as Chinese hamburger, roujiamo is a popular street food in China.

The bread, called "mo" in Chinese, is made from wheat flour dough, and is usually baked. The meat for the filling is stewed for hours in a soup containing spices and seasonings and then minced or chopped. Depending on the region, pork, beef, or lamb is used.

Similar in appearance to roujiamo, arepa is a burger-like snack in Venezuela made from ground corn dough. It can be grilled, baked, fried, boiled, or steamed. The fillings can be cheese, various types of meat, avocado, black beans, or other ingredients.
