Why is the Israel-Palestine issue still unresolved? Ebrahim Hashem, Asia Global Fellow at Asia Global Institute Hong Kong University, tells CGTN's Wang Guan that it's in the West's own selfish interest. Resolutions calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza have been submitted at the UN Security Council, but the United States has voted them down. Hashem says that some politicians in the West, especially in the U.S., view Palestine as an extension of their global power and have been interfering for decades, making it difficult to solve the Palestinian question.
