China's "ice city," Harbin, saw 10.09 million visits during this year's Spring Festival holiday, or an average daily increase of 81.7 percent year on year.

Such a booming tourism market helped Harbin rake in a record high 16.42 billion yuan (about $2.3 billion), up 235.4 percent from last year. But Harbin is not the only place with roaring crowds!

During this year's Spring Festival holiday, 474 million domestic tourism trips were made, marking a 34.3 percent increase from the same period last year.

Through the organization of diverse cultural tourism activities and the integration of a city's history, traditions and cultural characteristics into its products and services, numerous Chinese cities have developed culturally captivating brands, thus stimulating cultural tourism consumption.
