The inaugural demonstration of an eVTOL (Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft) cross-city and cross-bay route, believed to be the first in the world, has taken place in Shenzhen, south China’s Guangdong Province.

The flight covered more than 55 kilometers and took around 20 minutes to complete.

The event, conducted with the "Shengshilong" eVTOL aircraft, simulated a travel scenario from Shekou Cruise Terminal in Shenzhen to Jiuzhou Port Terminal in Zhuhai.

The Shengshilong eVTOL manned aircraft, also known as an "air taxi," has a maximum takeoff weight of 2,000 kilograms and can accommodate up to 5 passengers. It can cruise at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour and has a maximum range of 250 kilometers.
