Sporadic shots from automatic weapons were heard in Chad's capital N'Djamena on Wednesday near the headquarters of an opposition party surrounded by the army, AFP reported quoting its correspondents.
An official from the Socialist Party Without Borders (PSF), speaking to AFP by telephone and requesting anonymity, mentioned Kalashnikov assault rifles and teargas grenades.
