Israel conducted missile attacks on areas south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Wednesday night, according to witnesses and state TV.
State TV reported that the Syrian air defenses managed to shoot down the majority of the Israeli missiles.
Eyewitnesses told Xinhua that the attack hit areas south of Damascus, specifically Babila and Sayyida Zaynab. The Sayyida Zaynab area is recognized as a stronghold for pro-Iran militias.
