China is taking a series of measures to optimize payment services that will make it easier for foreigners visiting China to pay for goods and services. The efforts are to reduce barriers in multiple consumption and investment scenarios, both online and offline. A guiding document on further optimizing payment services and improving convenience of payment was reviewed and approved by the Chinese State Council. It urged comprehensive and coordinated action to make payments easier for foreigners and senior citizens. As officials said, China will continuously insist on the usage of cash, and optimize currency exchange and cash services. Further, mobile payment services will be enhanced to connect international cards, payment tools and e-wallets. There must be support for a diverse array of payment methods.
