Huiyu Island lies just under four kilometers off the coast of Quanzhou in Fujian Province. In 2020, Xiao Jinzhang returned from the mainland to take over for his father as the island's doctor. Life on Huiyu is rarely exciting, and as the only doctor he's not free to leave whenever he wants. But Dr. Xiao says he feels settled now, and is committed to serving the villagers as best he can.
