China's top political advisors, members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, or CPPCC, are meeting in Beijing for their six-day gathering. The high-profile event is seen as the first report card since current members took up their roles a year ago. As a united front on many social and political issues, the CPPCC advises the government on key policy measures, from boosting jobs and domestic demand, supporting the private sector, to industrial digitization, food security and foreign investment.
