China will conduct democratic oversight inspections on improving the environment for the private sector, which will surely have a thriving future with high-quality development, a spokesperson for the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said on Sunday.

Spokesperson Liu Jieyi said at a press conference in Beijing that the private sector is an important force promoting Chinese modernization and an important foundation for high-quality development, as it plays an important role in promoting innovation, creating jobs and delivering a better life to people.

Last July, the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the State Council issued the "Guideline on Boosting the Growth of the Private Economy," while local governments and departments rolled out supporting policy measures accordingly.

"These have provided a better environment and a stronger legal guarantee for the private sector, promoting high-quality development of the private economy and healthy development of entrepreneurs," Liu said.

Many CPPCC National Committee members are from the private sector. "They have first-hand information and understand how the market is doing. And they also provide suggestions on the healthy development of the sector and on creating an enabling business environment."

"As the overall economy is steadily improving, private businesses expect a promising future," Liu noted.

Earlier this year, at the macro-economy symposium held by the CPPCC, State Council departments listened to suggestions and communicated with CPPCC members, covering topics including top concerns of private companies and healthy development of the private sector.

The National Committee will hold briefings on key concerns, including delayed payments to companies, so as to boost the confidence of these companies and serve the private sector.
