Folk artists performed the traditional folk art of single bamboo drifting in Zunyi, southwest China's Guizhou Province, attracting crowds of onlookers. The artists held bamboo poles to keep their balance as they stood on a single bamboo log and performed dance moves while drifting on the water. Dating back to ancient times, single bamboo drifting originated as a means of transportation. Nowadays, the practice of single bamboo drifting, known as "water ballet," is considered to be a sport as well as a form of intangible cultural heritage.
