Focusing on the major strategic plans set during the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee has held consultations to serve the central tasks of the CPC and the country, Wang Huning, chairman of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, said at the opening meeting of the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, on Monday.

Wang made the remarks when delivering a work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee to the session.

The CPPCC National Committee, also known as China's top political advisory body, has held 94 consultations of various types – including standing committee meetings and expert consultations – with 5,087 participants and 1,602 speakers since March 2023, the country's top political advisor said.

Wang added that the CPPCC National Committee has held standing committee meetings with topics including Chinese modernization and innovation-driven development strategy, and conducted a series of investigations and consultations on issues ranging from building a modern industrial system to improving national scientific literacy to provide targeted and practicable suggestions and proposals.

The CPPCC National Committee has also carried out a series of surveys on improving the environment for the development of private enterprises, held consultations on the construction of new urbanization and promoting the steady and healthy development of the real estate market and also a series of activities where CPPCC members talk about the economy to boost confidence in development, Wang said.
