A section of the Great Wall built by the State of Qin over 2,000 years ago can still be seen today in Lintao County, northwest China's Gansu Province. Although little more than an earth bank these days, the Wall here is still very important to the local community. Yang Xin is a legislative liaison officer in Lintao who is currently gathering feedback on a draft amendment to the Law on the Protection of Cultural Relics.

Among those he has talked to is Zhao Qinghua, a local Chinese language teacher. Zhao grew up near the Great Wall and is passionate about protecting it. So, what suggestions does he have concerning the preservation of cultural relics?
