A spokesperson for China's top legislature said on Monday that the six principles proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping for upholding and improving the people's congress system make up the valuable experience the system has gained over the past 70 years and they serve as the fundamental guidance for advancing the system on a new journey. 

Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks while briefing the press on the session scheduled from March 5 to 11.
