Open cooperation is the right choice to explore scientific frontiers and promote scientific and technological development, said Lou Qinjian, spokesperson for the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, on Monday.
Lou made the remarks while briefing the press on the NPC session scheduled to run from March 5 to 11.
China will strengthen the creation, application and protection of scientific and technological intellectual property rights, and the country is committed to promoting global collaboration on scientific and technological innovation and actively participating in the global innovation network, he said.
To conclude future work, Lou said the NPC and its Standing Committee will study legislation to promote scientific and technological innovation, especially in-depth research on ethics, morality, safety and other important issues in frontier scientific and technological fields such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
