Paper-cutting is a national-level intangible cultural heritage in China and has been included on the representative list of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This ancient technique was presented in an innovative way when designer and paper-cutting artist Wu Xiaomei presented her haute couture series featuring elements of paper-cutting at a fashion show in the ancient city of Huizhou, Xixian County, Anhui Province. Featuring Chinese and overseas models, the show achieved a crossover fusion of tradition and fashion, offering the audience a refreshing experience.
