Arsenal swept Sheffield United aside 6-0 to match their biggest Premier League away win on Monday, closing the gap with leaders Liverpool to only two points and becoming the first team to achieve seven straight wins in the league this season.
Mikel Arteta's side are one point behind Manchester City, but have a much better goal difference than Pep Guardiola's side. The top three teams have all played 27 games. Sheffield United remain at the bottom of the standings with 13 points, 11 short of safety.

"A great performance and a big result for us again with the amount of goals we scored and the clean sheet," said Arteta.
"The team shows signs of wanting more, very positive. The energy is really good at the moment. When you are winning everything is easier, we have to maintain momentum now," he added.
Elsewhere in Europe, Inter Milan extended their lead at the Serie A to 15 points clear of second-placed Juventus with a 2-1 home win against Genoa thanks to goals from Kristjan Asllani and Alexis Sanchez in the first half.
Inter's Simone Inzaghi also celebrated his 300th Serie A game as a manager, topping the managers' ranking of most wins after 300 games in charge with 179, followed by Carlo Ancelotti with 172 and Massimiliano Allegri with 171. His side have already equaled the total points they achieved last season with 11 games remaining.
