China firmly opposes the EU's inclusion of Chinese companies as part of its sanctions regime against Russia, China's special envoy for Eurasian affairs said on Monday.

In a meeting with EU diplomats, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on Eurasian Affairs Li Hui, in a Foreign Ministry statement, urged the EU to unconditionally cancel Chinese companies from the list and return to the right track of dialogue and consultation with China.

The two sides had a candid, in-depth exchange of views on the Ukraine crisis and the peace talks process, added the statement.
