Not all of them are scary, and some probably wouldn't be able to fend off scavenging birds. These scarecrows in Nanning, Guangxi are doing the opposite: drawing visitors with their charming looks. Composed mostly of straw, around 30 groups of large-scale exhibits are on show in the city, reflecting such themes as the Chinese dragon (the 2024 Chinese zodiac animal), cartoons and fairy tales.
