Located in the hinterland near the Three Gorges in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Fengjie is a major citrus fruit production area in the country and is one of the world's eight major navel orange-producing areas. An important area for eco-environment protection, this “Orange Town” produced 481,000 tonnes of the refreshing fruit last year, supporting the livelihoods of 300,000 farmers with a total annual income of about ¥2.3 billion or $323.6 million.
