Israel's military will continue to operate against Hamas, despite growing international pressure, in all of the Gaza Strip, including Rafah, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.

"There is international pressure, and it's growing, but particularly when the international pressure rises, we must close ranks; we need to stand together against the attempts to stop the war," he said.

The remarks came after reports that a delegation of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) left Cairo and that negotiations regarding a potential truce between the movement and Israel will resume next week.

After four days of talks mediated by Qatar and Egypt to secure a 40-day ceasefire ahead of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting, there has been no sign of progress on key sticking points.
