The development of AI requires boosting storage capacity in tandem with computing power, so as to achieve faster operations and efficient large model computing, said Feng Dan, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and dean of the School of Computer Science and Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
"An intelligent computing center must have a balance of computing power as well as the storage capacity if it is to support the operation of AI algorithms," Feng told CGTN reporter Zhao Chenchen in a recent interview.
She said that the researchers are currently seeking more suitable next-generation storage media to achieve efficient "in-memory computing."
