2027 All-Star Game will happen in Phoenix, NBA announces

The 2027 NBA All-Star Game will happen at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the league announced on Thursday.

"We know what kind of show we want to put on," Mat Ishbia, owner of the Phoenix Suns, said at a press conference. "The NBA always does an amazing job. It's a whole weekend of festivities, and you could even argue – a week of festivities. And we're excited. We have a couple years to prepare for it, and we'll keep getting better and better. We did it in 2009 [All-Star] here, but we're really going to piggyback off what a great job Indiana did [last month]."

It will be the fourth All-Star Game in Phoenix after they hosted the event in 1975, 1995 and 2009. The Suns had players selected for it on every occasion: Charlie Scott in 1975, Dan Majerle and Charles Barkley in 1995, Amar'e Stoudemire and Shaquille O'Neal in 2009.

The Suns' "Big Three" this season, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, will see their current contracts come due in 2028, 2026 and 2027, respectively – but Beal has the player option for the 2026-27 season. When the 2027 All-Star Game happens, Booker, Durant and Beal will be 29, 38 and 33 years old, respectively.

This year's All-Star Game took place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event will go to the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, in 2025 and Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, in 2026.

"And I'm sure Golden State will do a great job [in 2025] and the Clippers will do a great job [in 2026] and we're going to piggyback off that," Ishbia said. "But we want to make it special. And one thing that those places don't have is they don't have Phoenix."

"This is an incredibly desirable location," NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said at the same press conference. "People love to be here. I think when we are here, both in the summer for the WNBA All-Star Game and then for the NBA All-Star Game, there's so much to do in this community."
