Private enterprises play a pivotal role in Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) investments. The involvement of the private sector - both in and outside of China - is essential to ensure the long-term sustainability, dynamism and effectiveness of the BRI within the global community. CGTN spoke to Sanda Ojiambo, assistant secretary-general and also CEO & executive director of the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, to explore the crucial role of businesses participating in the BRI, and their potential to drive innovation, stimulate economic growth, and facilitate the development of sustainable infrastructure under BRI.
