The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) deliberated a total of 22 reports from the State Council, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate over the past year, according to Zhao Leji, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee on Friday.
Zhao delivered the report at the second plenary meeting of the second session of the 14th NPC, saying the NPC Standing Committee carried out effective and law-based supervision in key areas including high-quality development, central budgets, state-owned assets management, local government debt issue and environment protection.
Aside from 22 work reports, the NPC Standing Committee also examined the implementation of five laws, and organized two special inquiries and seven special investigations toward the government work, Zhao said.
