Ying Yong, procurator-general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), on Friday delivered a work report at the second plenary meeting of the second session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing.

China's procuratorial organs committed to creating law-based business environment
China's procuratorial authorities remained committed to creating a law-based business environment and cracking down on financial crimes, the report showed.
A total of 121,000 individuals were prosecuted in 2023 for sabotaging the market economic order, up 20.4 percent year on year, as a result of China's efforts to stabilize social expectations and boost market confidence through the rule of law, according to the report.
China's procuratorial organs enhance protection of minors, women
China's procuratorial organs have made efforts to ensure the healthy growth of minors and protect the rights and interests of women, said the work report.
In 2023, procuratorates across the country maintained a zero tolerance for crimes such as sexual assaults, hurts, and maltreatment of minors, with 67,000 people prosecuted, an increase of 14.9 percent year on year, according to the report.
