NPC Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji says the National People's Congress has established various channels to listen to the opinions of the general public. There are over 6,500 grassroots legislative contact stations in China, and 45 of them are at the national-level. Professor Huo Zhengxin from the China University of Political Science and Law says grassroots legislative contact stations connect the public with national lawmakers.
