Li Bolin sees herself as just an ordinary rural teacher. But her students see her rather differently – as a hero. Over the past six years, Li has helped her charges to write over 1,000 poems. She takes them out of the classroom and into the fields, where she encourages them to write stories and poetry inspired by the living world. Their "Field Poetry Class " provides these children living among mountains with a stage on which to present their creative writing to a wider audience.
