Adjacent to the renowned Shennongjia Forestry District, the Wulipo National Nature Reserve in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality includes virtually undisturbed sub-alpine wetlands that can only be accessed by hiking the mountain paths.
The "Heavenly Pond" brims with sapphire water, and is replenished all year round.
At nearly 2,700 meters above sea level, the reserve is famous for its well-preserved vegetation with exuberant rare plant species.
