The chief of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ma Xingrui, emphasized the importance of developing the region's economy and analyzing the specific challenges faced by different parts of Xinjiang. This is to ensure that the relatively less developed areas catch up with the more developed ones.
"Xinjiang's economic and social development should be driven by enhancing the sense of gain, security, and happiness for all ethnic groups. Our achievements must benefit all ethnic groups," Ma said when answering a question from a CGTN reporter when the Xinjiang delegation to the 14th National People's Congress met the press on March 7 during the ongoing Two Sessions.
