Hong Kong's Legislative Council has begun debating a new national security law. Tang Ying-yen, a former chief secretary and financial secretary of Hong Kong, and a current member of the CPPCC Standing Committee, describes the legislation as long overdue and crucial for Hong Kong's stability.
