Lebanon's Hezbollah said on Tuesday that it launched over 100 rockets at Israeli military positions in retaliation for a strike on the country's east that killed one person the day before.

Hezbollah launched "more than 100 katyusha rockets" at two military bases on Tuesday morning, the group said in a statement, adding that it was "in response to the Israeli attacks on our people, villages and cities, most recently near the city of Baalbek and the killing of a citizen."

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israeli aerial defense systems intercepted some of the rockets, and its fighter jets struck three launchers used to fire rockets.

There are no immediate reports of casualties from Israel yet.
