The Sanjiangkou area in Ganzhou City, east China's Jiangxi Province, exhibits a pleasant springtime landscape.

"Sanjiangkou" means "junction of the Zhangjiang, Gongjiang and Ganjiang rivers". The first two rivers merge to form the 766-kilometer-long Ganjiang, the largest river in the province and one of the Yangtze River's major tributaries.

Ganzhou City has long been known with its water resources. Su Shi, a renowned Chinese poet in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), once wrote "The mountains resemble emerald waves; and the water, glistening rainbow," when he was amazed by the aquatic landscape of ancient Ganzhou.

In recent years, Ganzhou has been vigorously promoting the ecological civilization. Through ecological restoration, greening, sewage control and other effective measures along the river, the water quality has been much improved, offering the locals beautiful scenery with clear water and green banks.
